BALI TRANSPORT REVIEWS
When traveling around Bali there are a number of different options of Bali
transport available across all budgets from the round the world rupiah saver to the helicopter passengers if you prefer to travel in style. The easiest and in many cases the most practical way to travel around Bali would be via a hired car or motor bike. Driving in Bali can be very hectic if you are not used to it although there is method to the madness and surprisingly, accidents are rare. The general principles are to keep looking forwards and to go when you find a space. Anyhow, vehicle hire is very cheap and it is possible to hire a motor bike for less than $5 per day and even less if you agree to take the bike for an extended period of time. Cars can be hired for under $10 per day and again it is common to receive large reductions for extended use.
This is however one of the many agreements in Bali that is certainly open to bartering. the easiest way is to remember how much it should cost per day, speak to people in a bar and find out what the usual rates are and when you meet the person point out any negative points and definitely try to get at least a 20% discount if you a using the vehicle for a week or longer. If the seller
will not budge and you feel he is being unreasonable then simply say you will try some other places and may return, when you have stated a reasonable price this can often be the clincher.
Other then hire it is also possible to charter a driver which many people find far more practical as you have the experience and knowledge of the driver to insure the journeys go smoothly as well as the driver is experienced in driving on Balinese roads so there is far less stress involved. Otherwise an extension this idea is to book onto a guided tour where you can be sure to see the main sites of an area in a productive efficient time space. Tours can often be booked at your villa or hotel and there are many other separate tour companies that offer excellent services and these are usually very cheap indeed.
There is a selection of Bali public transport opportunities to be used including bemos and taxis, when using taxis it is important to only use the blue bird taxis and make sure you are traveling on the meter where a trip form the airport to Kuta should cost no more than
IR90000 un marked cabs are rarely dangers but almost always more expensive as you are essentially dealing with a tout. The Bemos are small open air mini buses and are very cheap indeed although the drivers are notorious for ripping of westerners, just remember this is the most basic
Bali transport available and it is available to even the very poorest of Indonesians so you
should not be paying any more than a dollar for any distance.
There are number of Bali transport from motor bikes, taxi, private car to
luxury coaches in Bali. Choose the suitable Bali transport to fulfill
your needs during holiday.
