Ubud had a fascinating history devoted to the following of the Balinese Hindu religion, accommodating the royal family and compelling creativity in the form of painters, carvers, performers and dancers who have been inspired by this area for generations. The traditional culture and lifestyle has been preserved in Ubud where tourism occurs with a far more conservational approach. Surrounded by culture and beautiful traditional Balinese landscapes of forest-covered ravines and endless Padi fields, the Cendana Resort offers a real escape from reality.

This traditional hideaway has many classic style Ubud villas within gorgeous Balinese gardens. The rooms although traditional from the outside are actually very modern from within offer in a high level of luxury and comfort. Prices here are very reasonable considering the area and standard of that the Cendana Resort offers. The double rooms have grand poster beds with long flowing mosquito nets, all fabrics and furniture is traditionally built and all rooms have luxurious marble bathrooms with full fittings including baths showers and sinks with hot and cold water. Private balconies with incredible views, international telephones and air conditioning are all present.

There is a large swimming pool with an infinity edge and sun decking with plenty of seating in both the palm shade and in the sunlight. With a nearby bar and views over the rice padi fields, the Cendana Resort is certainly a good choice for relaxation. Meals are served at the traditional restaurant building and include Indonesian delicacies, western favorites and a selection of seafood and fusions. Other facilities include an extensive parking area laundry and a 24-hour on call doctor.

The spa offers an array of treatments from Javanese wedding bathes to Balinese massage and other traditional and modern services including pedicure and facials. 

Activities range from yoga classes in the most idyllic locations, mountain biking and white water rafting all within the Ubud area. There are also a range of excursions possible including visits to the nearby fishing villages of the east, the local monkey forest and many cultural treasures and performances. Cendana Resort offers excellent accommodation at a very reasonable price situated in the very heart of the Ubud village. The rooms are of a high standard and the grounds are lush creating an excellent place to chill out and escape western life with plenty of activities and tours available.
