Nicks Hidden Cottages is one part of the three accommodation concepts offered by the Nick Hotel group. As the name suggests, the cottages are a series of quaint and quiet cottages located in a hidden away area very close to but just outside the main Ubud area. Tucked away close to a small village it the towering tropical forest close to a valley that has been carved by streams and mountains the cascade down the nearby mountainsides, through the rice paddies that draw patterns flowing down the hillside and run down to the eastern fishing villages that are only a short day trip away. Nick's Hidden Cottages is a budget accommodation that rises above its title, rooms here are cheap and basic although subtly brightened with the additions of Balinese carvings, painting and fabrics which were all handmade locally to the area of Ubud. Room's are fan cooled or air-conditioned and have a mini bar and either a hot and cold or cool water bathroom with bathtubs and showers. The security safe is either located within the room or at the reception and all rooms are located around a gorgeous central garden where a pool may be located with a bar serving all manner of tropical and conventional drinks including beers, soft drinks and fresh fruit juices.

The café restaurant supplies continental and full breakfasts and is open all day serving a range of local Balinese dishes, Indonesian dishes and western favorites. Dinning in Ubud is generally very good with some of the best Indonesian cooking in Bali and excellent European and Asian fusion contemporary eating.
