Located just east of Karangasem is the alternative tropical get away of Puri Bagus Manggis. Rooms are freshly decorated but in a traditional style with a minimalist approach. Local teak timbers and native designs are the main features of the styling and the effects are marvelous. All rooms are air conditioned with mini bars and excellent furnishings as well as a pot planted private veranda with amazing garden and sea views. The gardens here are particularly luscious and well landscaped to compliment the villa, land and the coastal view of Puri Bagus Manggis. There are also strips of rice padi fields and banana plantations as well as many other traditional processes and craftsmanship.

There is a really good list of activities including windsurfing, diving and paddleboards. There is also a selection of dry activities including cycling and walking down the coastline paths through shade and sun and venture through the hills and padi fields. The luscious swimming pool is an excellent place to chill out next to the bar and enjoy the resort. Other services include transport rental and charter and all expected other services.

Puri Bagus Manggis is an excellent alternative to the standard south Bali holiday and differs to Ubud in that there are only a very small number of tourists that stay in the area. Here it is possible to fulfill the dream imagery of a secluded undisturbed tropical white sand beach holiday amidst the culture and lifestyle of the local friendly people.
