Comment: We should have listen to some of the reviews.... This was not a very welcoming hotel. The staff was the most unmotivated staff ever....and we live in Singapore from France and US backgrounds......and travel quite a bit around. We put up with many challenges and lack of treats....so we are not really spoiled expats.... All we want is a welcoming hotel that would give us what we paid for....and in this case the list of of complaints are: having us wait almost an hour for our room when we got there at the time that they suggested ( with two hungry kids --not plus), the sheets seemed not to been changed, the towels looked worse than a hotel in back woods of India...., the light was minimal---quite depressing for such a paradise of an island, the Staff-----well, well ----the STAFF was the most unprofessional and unwelcoming bunch. Everyone from the concierge to the bell boy.... it appeared that there was a low moral issue. We thought that it was because we came from The Mansion in Ubud where the place was just top rate......but no...we got the same comments from everyone around. The layout was great....and they seemed to put quite of effort in making the place look good on the outside....but the inside with bad linen, towels and obvious dust and old dirt piled in areas that a quick broom pass did not pick up were quite obvious a deterrent for us not -----NEVER to return there. We didn't even get a good price....so it wasn't as we getting a bargain and should put up with certain things----no, not at all... If you are using the hotel as the base to explore other areas and enjoy the life outside of the hotel......you will not return to a welcoming environment upon your long day. With two kids under 3....we needed that and we didn't get it. You will read positive comments from others who might use the hotel as a tannin resort and really never care for service other than they get their cocktail and beer choice right. You know the type..... those who travel to warm places just to lay by the poolside and drink....what a waste! They should have just traveled south to Spain and saved the money and air time....... By the way....aside from the lizards that come into the room (which are all over in Asia--even get them in our apartment in Singapore)....be cautious of making quite a bit of movement with your legs during your meal at night near the beach...... the mice are not shy....but this is probably just a one time deal......there are other bargains, resorts, beach hotels and more friendly staff in other areas......explore......but avoid this one or else just put up with what we couldn't....
