SINGARAJA LOVINA Singaraja is located in the northern most area of Bali just east of Lovina with a vast mountain range separating it from the overcrowded tourist hot spots of the south. Both Lovina and more so Singaraja are secluded tourist resorts ideal for those who seek a beautiful location where mountains meet a luscious dark sand beach with gentle warm calm waters and gorgeous coral lining the bay. This area is far less crowded then the south although there is a small tourist scene consisting of more refined sophisticated travelers who have made the effort to travel a little further a field away from the clubs and pubs of Kuta in search of a more tranquil setting in which to relax, socialize and find your own private secluded paradise.Singaraja has developed secluded hideaway resorts, often of traditional bungalow villa style and modern more contemporary styles but always with a very high level of service, facilities and general luxuries. These resorts go a long way to creating you your very own secluded paradise with well spaced bungalows within pristine tranquil gardens and cozy private gardens often with a pool, sea/ valley view, terraces etc. There are beach resorts with private beach access usually with a bar and café nearby and changing facilities. Eating at the resorts is often magnificent in Singaraja with top chiefs employed to create culinary jewels from around the world including authentic local and Asian delicacies as well as Eurasian and fusion meals. Also there are special seafood barbeque nights that produce breathtaking cuisine. A few very good restaurants in Singaraja including beach view and restaurants located higher in the hills offer some of Bali’s best food served with the most truly breathtaking views of. It is the smaller scale of facilities in Singaraja that really lends to its secluded simple village feel. A smaller presence of tourists and a few resorts mean you’re not in total wilderness but instead a highly soothing exclusive spot within tropical paradise. The weather here tends to be slightly hotter then the rest of the island and less humid creating a more comfortable environment all year round. Retreating into the mountains is not only an excellent way to escape the heat replacing it with fresh mountain breezes but is also great for opening up a variety of day trip options such as visiting local villages observing traditional Balinese culture, hiking and walking in the mountains, visits to the local temples, Git Git waterfall and countless other attractions of natural and cultural beauty. Activities here besides hiking and cycling, in clued sailing, kayaking (both sea and river), windsurfing, safe swimming, snorkeling, diving and golf. The diving and snorkeling is a particular favorite as there is world class reef diving that suitable for beginners and the experienced alike. Singaraja could be described as a cross between the luscious rich rice padis and tropical hillside forests of Ubud, and the Beach side life of Lovina. There are fewer tourists then in Lovina but in this area crowds are never a problem. Singaraja is a tranquil paradise enjoyed by only a few tourists and shared with friendly accommodating locals who are genuine and nothing like the beach sellers of Kuta.
