BALI BEACHES
Bali is a hotspot for tourist visitors, which for some people is a great thing and for other is an aspect they seek to avoid. Either way Bali, without doubt can cater for both of these demographics offering everyone a perfect holiday. So let's say you're here to chill on the beach, go out and party in the evening and may hit the beach up for the occasional surf. For you, Kuta is the answer where there are a whole string of budget restaurants and places to stay and a strip of large clubs to enjoy as well as a multitude of bars. Other close by areas of interest from here are the Puri Tanah Lot which is the most photographed spot in Bali and a wonderful temple standing solitary on a rock just of the beach with a tidal path that leads to it. Otherwise you can head south to Uluwatu where there are amazing waves, beautiful Balinese landscapes, incredible sunsets and the water temple where amazing ceremonial displays of Balinese Hinduism can be watched. On the way back why not stop of in Jimbaran, one of Bali's most beautiful bays where you can chill out in the flat water on the white sands and at nightfall dine on barbequed fresh seafood at the beach restaurants with a candle lit horizon provided by the fishing boats that are busy catching the next nights food.
If partying is not your thing and you prefer a more cultural experience then Ubud is the place for you, high in the mountains where the climate is cooler and the surrounding are classically Balinese with rice padi fields stretching over hills, tropical woodlands separating hills from traditional villages and rivers and crevasses flowing from the impressive mountain backdrop down to the quiet less visited eastern fishing villages that make a lovely day trip. Ubud is home to some amazing art galleries and markets as well as some of the most passionate traditional displays of dance and Balinese folk law that continues to appease the Balinese gods that surround the Balinese's lives. Ubud is also home to the conservational monkey forest which is extremely cheap to enter and is an ancient are of tropical rainforest where you can observe the endangered monkeys in their natural habitat.
Activities available in Bali include surfing all over the island, white water rafting in and around Ubud, incredible diving and snorkeling mainly in the north and the east of the island where the reefs are not subject to the large swells and a variety of other water sports including sailing, parasailing, jet skiing and windsurfing. Other activities include cycling, walking, and many lessons in Balinese crafts and cooking etc.
In the evenings there is plenty of entertainment and different types of food from all over the world and many day trips and excursions that can be set up by tour operators that can be specific to certain activities or based on sight seeing.
